Ulster Scots return!

18th Feb 2026

We were absolutely delighted to welcome the Ulster Scots back into our school this week!

The Ulster Scots initiative brings so many wonderful benefits — from helping pupils explore history and heritage, to building confidence through music, storytelling, and hands-on cultural experiences. It was fantastic to see the children so engaged, asking thoughtful questions and showing real curiosity about traditions that are such an important part of our shared culture.

One of the biggest highlights was definitely the bagpipes! The sound alone had everyone intrigued and there was huge excitement as we learned how they work.  Children even had the chance to dress up in traditional clothing and try their hand at playing the pipes— not as easy as it looked but great fun!

A huge thank you to the Ulster Scot’s for bringing such energy, knowledge and inspiration into our school. We’re already looking forward to next Wednesday and the next visit! ?
