Hunting for Fairtrade

14th Jan 2026

Our Key Stage Two pupils recently started their new topic ‘Fairtrade’. And what better way to get things started than by a visit to the local shop?  This ‘fairtrade hunt’ brought classroom learning to life, giving the children the opportunity to investigate real products, read labels and ask thoughtful questions about where goods come from and how they are produced.

The pupils were enthusiastic and curious as they searched for Fairtrade items, working together and sharing ideas while developing important skills such as teamwork, communication and independent thinking. The visit sparked great discussions about fairness, global responsibility and how everyday choices can make a positive difference.

It was a lively, hands-on experience that the children thoroughly enjoyed, helping them deepen their understanding of Fairtrade in a meaningful and memorable way — all while having plenty of fun along the way!

And a big thank you to Nisa Local for letting us have a good nose around their shop!
